The US Postal Service provides final ruling on changes for the mailing of Folded Self-Mailers (FSM) & Unenveloped Mailing Pieces

In August 2011 the US Postal Service issued a proposed ruling regarding a series of changes to make possible the standardization of design, creation and mailing of folded self-mailers and other unenveloped mailing pieces.

This proposed ruling was finalized December 1, 2011 and the changes are scheduled to become effective January 5, 2013.

Below is a brief summary of the changes that will affect users.

Tabs must be non-perforated, and have a minimum diameter of 1". The actual number and size of the tabs required will be determined by the weight and design of the mailing.
